Dear Parents,

Hard to believe that we are almost at the end of the school year! Preschool has already said good bye. Kindergarten will celebrate their last day tomorrow. Our 8th graders will graduate tomorrow night.

For the rest of us, there is still a lot going on:

Next week’s schedule:

Tuesday – Full day of school. Uniform sale and resale at 8:00AM.

Students may wear spirit wear or gym clothes. If other than gym shorts are worn, shorts MUST be to the knee.

Wednesday – Full day of school. NO MASS. Field Day in the AM. Students may wear spirit wear or gym clothes. If other than gym shorts are worn, shorts MUST be to the knee. Students MUST wear gym shoes. Fast Food Wednesday for lunch. If you child has not ordered a lunch, please to be sure to send one.

Thursday – End of the Year Celebration. Students may wear spirit wear or gym clothes. If other than gym shorts are worn, shorts MUST be to the knee. Students may wear flip flops today. Dismissal at 11:00.

Friday – Students dress up for mass. Mass at 8:15. Students will return to classrooms for dismissal after mass.

Fast Food Wednesday – Forms are due tomorrow.

New for Next Year – I am happy to announce that Miss Mary Kate Healy will be staying on as the 3rd grade teacher for next year.

The 4th grade classroom will be getting a face-lift. The wall between the 4th grade and the counselor’s room will be removed adding space to enlarge the classroom. The counselor’s office will move to the office adjacent to the RE Office. We will also see a new face in the classroom as an aide will be added to assist Mrs. Zinn.

On a sadder note, Mrs. Paulus will be retiring. She has been with us here at SIS for 10 years! We will miss her!

I am currently interviewing people to fill both positions.

I will keep you posted throughout the summer of any other changes.

"Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient with it until it receives the early and the late rains. You too must be patient. Make your hearts firm, because the coming of the Lord is at hand" (James 5:7-8)

About

St. Isidore was a farm hand. He was born near Madrid, Spain in 1070. He attended mass every morning at a Madrid church before he set out for work as a farm laborer.  Isidore and his wife vowed celibacy in gratitude for a miracle which saved their son from drowning in a well. They were known for their holiness and care of the poor. St. Isidore died May 15, 1130. He was canonized with other Spaniards - St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Teresa of Avila on March 12, 1622.
