An invitation from Fr. Jim… (una invitación del Padre Jim en español)
Dear Fellow Parishioners,
In a parish the size of St. Isidore, the only way for someone to feel connected is to be involved in a smaller group of people. Many find that connection by serving in a parish ministry. Others belong to a prayer group or one our service organizations like the CCW or Knights of Columbus. Some have connected to other parishioners because they attend daily Mass together.
In our parish history all of the periods of growth and renewal take place as a result of parish-wide experiences that intentionally brings small groups of parishioners together to share their faith and their lives. Many long-lasting, deep relationships have formed and people’s faith has grown as a result.
In the Gospels, Jesus calls us to welcome and to feel as if we belong. We do not have to face our problems, our fears, our doubts, and our struggles alone. And as Catholics, we are also called to reach out to others and to witness to our faith.
For these reasons, I invite you to join a small community in our parish beginning this Fall that uses the Be My Witness faith sharing materials. It promises to offer us an opportunity to share our lives and faith, to feel welcome in the community and have a stronger sense of belonging so that we can be witnesses to the message of the gospel.
