The St. Isidore School Class of 2015 received their diplomas from Fr. Jim and Principal Cyndi Collins during graduation ceremonies this past spring. The class was comprised of 16 young women and 15 young men, 20 of whom will be attending local Catholic High schools this fall.
Impressive Academic Performances Recognized, Scholarships Awarded Recognized for their accomplishments during an awards assembly the last week of school were: Natalie Kuchler, Bloomingdale Character Counts Award; Ryan Martin and Megan Lombardo, Diane Neary Christian Athlete Award; Kailee Pearson and Adam Dau, St. Isidore Christian Citizenship Award; and Meghan Frost, the St. Isidore Christian Scholarship Award.
Ryan Martin and Natalie Kuchler also received four-year scholarships to St. Francis HS for scoring in the top 10 of all students taking the school’s entrance exam. Additionally, a scholarship in memory of the late Chester Sawko was awarded to Meghan Frost and Libby Prosch, who will attend SFHS in the fall: $1,000 per year for each of their four years of high school. Our “mathlete” teams brought home impressive “hardware” from scholastic bowl math competitions this year, including 1st place trophies at Benet Academy’s, Montini High School’s and St. Francis High School’s Math Competitions; the Glenbard Math Contest and others. Eighth grade team members included Justine Ferrer, Genevieve Heydt, Connor O’Keefe, Michael Sansone, Natalie Kuchler, Ryan Martin, Megan Lombardo, and James Kovarik.
Natalie Kuchler took top honors in the St. Isidore Geography Bee this year, and ultimately advanced to the state competition.
Leadership Team
The St. Isidore School Leadership Academy this spring organized a Birthday Party-In-A-Box as its major service project, part of a local Humanitarian Service Project which reaches out to impoverished children ages 3 to 11 who live in DuPage and Kane Counties by placing special birthday packages in their hands on their birthdays. St. Isidore students collected and brought birthday favors to school (e.g. cake mix, frosting, balloons, birthday plates, cups, candles, etc.). which were boxed and gift wrapped by our Faith Families in April, and along with other schools participating, delivered to more than 900 children on their birthdays!
All in all it was quite a year for our latest group of alumni.
