ADORATION CHAPEL
Although currently closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, our Adoration Chapel is normally available 24/7 for silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. We encourage your continued commitment to prayer as a parish during these trying times.
We invite everyone to reserve a time slot now -- one hour is recommended, but a half hour or even 15 minutes is a good start -- in silence with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament to begin when our chapel reopens. The results in your life and in the life of our parish may surprise you!
The chapel's exterior door is typically accessible from 8 am - 9 pm every day. Overnight hours access-- 8 am-9 pm -- will require a key card, which can be acquired at the parish office Monday - Friday 8 am-6 pm or at the Hospitality Desk in the narthex of the main church following Saturday evening and Sunday Masses. There is a $5 fee to cover our cost of the card, for security purposes an application to complete, and a copy of a driver's license or state ID will be kept on file.
The term Perpetual Adoration means 2 or more people at a time are present in the chapel praying at every hour of the day and night, 7 days per week.
BACKGROUND
In September of 2015, our dream to build a Perpetual Adoration Chapel became Phase III of our Honoring Our Roots, Cultivating Our Future capital campaign.
WHAT IS PERPETUAL ADORATION?
Adoration is a style of prayer and opportunity for quiet time in the presence of Jesus in the Eucharistic Host displayed in a vessel called the Monstrance (meaning “to show”). There is no right or wrong way to do it. You sit or kneel. You silently recite prayers like the rosary, you pray silently in your own words, you read scripture or other spiritual materials, or you simply sit quietly in God’s presence and listen. Lives are changed by the regular practice of spending time in a holy hour (or half hour or 20 minutes or 10 minutes) in quiet consciousness of the presence of God. The key word is SILENCE. We all need more silence in our noisy lives.
Perpetual Adoration is the opportunity for a parish to have someone in prayer in the chapel 24 hours per day 7 days per week. It changes lives and it changes parishes.
You can commit HERE to specific days and times for up to 2 weeks in advance
or
You can commit HERE to a recurring hour each week or month.
