We are about to begin a new Church Year with the 1st Sunday of Advent on Sunday, Dec. 3rd. Our Monthly Family Mass is at 1:00 that day followed by the Christmas Concert at 3:00 in the Ministry Center. The doors for the concert open at 2:30. Students in Grs. 1-5 should be in the designated upstairs classrooms in the Ministry Center by 2:30. Parents, please keep your child’s coat with you throughout the concert. Mr. Steerman will be videotaping the performance. Forms to order a copy are available in the school office and e-envelope.
There is a lot of news this week:
IL Scholarship – The State of IL has approved a tax credit for individuals and corporations that will make thousands of scholarship dollars available for families that enroll their children in non –public schools. This is an outstanding opportunity for anyone who sends their children to a Catholic School! The scholarship application must be made online. The website to fulfill that application is opening DECEMBER 15th. This is much earlier than typical scholarship applications and it is recommended that you apply immediately beginning on Dec. 15th. Santa’s Workshop – Santa’s Workshop is just one week away! Volunteers are still needed so please visit the parent portal and sign up to help. This is such a fun event for our students! See the e-envelope for the Gift List to help make your child’s shopping experience extra fun.
FFF – Fun Food Friday is Dec. 15th. The order form is in the e-envelope. All forms are due by Dec. 8th. Late orders cannot be accepted.
Football Mania – Congratulations to our Football Mania winner this week. Mary Cummins won $25 on a ticket sold by the Zalak Family.

Hot Lunch Menu – The January Hot Lunch Menu is also in the e-envelope. All orders are due by Dec. 20th at 8:00AM. Late Orders cannot be accepted.
Barnes & Noble Book Fair – Our Annual Barnes & Noble Book Fair is Sunday, Dec. 10th. The students will sing at Barnes & Noble after the 10:00 mass at approximately 11:15. All day Barnes & Noble will donate 20% of sales that mention St. Isidore School back to our school library.
All School Service Project – All students in Grs. K-8 will be making cards during our next Faith Family Gathering for Phil’s Friends, an organization that supports people diagnosed with cancer. The Faith in Action Team is also coordinating a collection of needed items for this group. See the e-envelope for information regarding the types of items that are most needed. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 12th. Thank you for your generosity!
Gala Excitement is Beginning – The Gala Committee is already working hard to make the Gala 2018 the best yet! Below is some information that is important reading for everyone. We can all help to make this Gala a huge success!!
Grand Raffle Tickets – If you have sold grand raffle tickets please turn them in. Many families have asked how to get MORE tickets. You can pick up tickets in the school office or email Mrs. Lesher and she can send home more tickets with your son or daughter (Please indicate how many tickets needed and name and grade of your child). As a reminder, we are asking each family to sell 6 grand raffle tickets. For each ticket sold you get $12.50 tuition credit and earn chances at the raffle for free tuition for next year. 4 tickets = one (1) chance; 6 tickets = two (2) chances; 8 tickets = four (4) chances. The more you sell the more changes you get. All tickets received by 8am on December 22nd are eligible for early bird raffle of $250. Please visit the portal to sign up to sell grand raffle tickets after mass February 3/4, 10/11, and 17/18. This is a great way for us to include our parish family in raising money for St. Isidore School. The $12.50 tuition credit from ALL tickets sold will be split equally among families that sell tickets. This is a great way to reduce your tuition. Tickets sold after mass do not count towards tuition raffle.
Sponsors and Items for the Gala – WE NEED YOUR HELP! Do you know a business that could be a sponsor for the gala? Business and Family sponsors received by December 8th will have their name printed on our gala invitations and much more. Please see the attached sheet for sponsorship. We also need items for the gala. Please ask your favorite business to donate a gift certificate or basket that we can auction at the gala. Please see attached donation form and letter to businesses.

December 8 – There will be no school mass next Wednesday, Dec. 6th. Our school mass will occur on Friday, December 8th at 8:15 as we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
