As you know, the Emergency Closing Center (emergencyclosingcenter.com) is the place to find information regarding school closures. That is typically the place where you will find the information if our school closes. Due to the predicted snow storm I just listed our school as closed for tomorrow, Friday. There will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow. I hope that the early notification will help parents that need to make childcare arrangements.
In other news….
It is time to think about the 2018-2019 school year. You will be receiving an email in the next few days from School Speak. DO NOT delete it! This will have all the information and link you need to register your child/children for the 2018-2019 school year.
Gala Update – We are just 2 weeks away from the most spectacular evening of the school year! Start doing arm stretches so you will be ready to raise your paddle at the auction. The live auction team has a fantastic line up this year. Here are a few of the items: Hamilton, U2, & Taylor Swift tickets, Medinah golf, Hilton Head, NC trip, fur coat, Bulls tickets, and so much more. Deadline for $75 per person dinner tickets is Friday, February 9th.
Please consider sponsoring a teacher ticket – any amount towards a teacher ticket is appreciated. Thank you second grade class for sponsoring Ms. White and Mrs. Alvino’s tickets.
Sell, Sell. Sell those grand raffle tickets. We have sold approximately 280 tickets so far and we need to sell 600. Deadline to turn in tickets for chance to win free tuition is Friday, February 23rd at 3pm.
Clothing Sale Update – The Spring Clothing Sale will be here before we know it! Sellers and volunteers are still needed. You can sign up to volunteer on the Parent Portal. See the e-envelope for more information.
Tax Credit Scholarship Update – I received notice from Empower IL that it will likely be at least 2 weeks before the site is ready to relaunch the application. They have promised at least a 1 week notice before it is open again. Thank you for your patience. I will share the news as I receive it.
Lent Begins – Ash Wednesday is next Wednesday, Feb. 14th. Students will be entering and exiting the church silently throughout Lent. Please support this by keeping all conversations to the Narthex. As a school we will be collecting money to “fill the shopping cart” again this year for our Neighborhood Food Pantry. Watch for more information after Lent begins.
Stay safe in the snow.
