St. Isidore School partners with Chess Scholars to provide chess lessons for students in Gr. 1-8. This group meets weekly, providing instruction to children at their individual levels. Students of all chess ability levels enjoy learning and challenging each other as they grow in their enjoyment of the game.
Young Rembrandts is a fine arts enrichment program that uses unique and proven method to educate students in Gr. K-6 in drawing skills. Visual learning skills are also developed during this fun after school one-hour class. Students create a different piece of art every week that is displayed in the school hallway.
The program teaches the student to draw while developing fine motor skills, concentration, creativity and confidence. YR presents drawing lessons that encompass a fascinating world of color, pattern and design. Students will strengthen their marker rendering skills as they draw a detailed gumball machine. A drawing of a sandwich will make them “hunger” for more art. We’ll travel back in time to the age of pharaohs as we draw a decorative Egyptian headdress. An illustration celebrating the fall season will introduce our artists to warm and cool colors. Our detailed drawing of a dragonfly will celebrate on of nature’s most curious insects. An illustration of a popular automobile will entertain the more technical minded student, and a holiday rendering of a nutcracker will remind us of the holiday season. All this and more!

St. Isidore School students participate in scouting troops sponsored by St. Isidore Parish. Groups are available for girls depending on their age level.

Let's Build It
Enter into the fascinating world of robotics. In this exciting STEAM program, students will design, build and test their very own robots under the guidance of an experienced AES instructor. Projects include remote control cars, claws, cranes, crawlers, and battle bots. Educational components include gear ratios, mechanical design, electronics, and robotics engineering. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to have fun, build, and learn. Each student will receive an award on the last day of the session, and have the opportunity to earn Energy Belts to demonstrate their learned skills!
