Advent Begins November 30

Beginning the Church’s liturgical year, Advent is the season encompassing the four Sundays (and weekdays) leading up to the celebration of Christmas. As the world around us speeds up in preparation for the Christmas holiday, the Church invites us to slow down. The season of Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for the joyous arrival of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The word “Advent” comes from the Latin word adventus, meaning “coming” or “arrival.” It is an opportunity to recenter our lives on Jesus and find peace amid the hustle and bustle of the season.

This Advent, we extend a special invitation to you, your families, and all our neighbors. If you have been away from the Church for a while, please know that our doors and hearts are open to you—no questions asked. The Father waits for you with arms wide open, and we in your parish family miss you. We aim to offer a variety of Advent services and special events and we sincerely hope you will join us as we prepare for the coming of Christ.
