Ministers of Care are pastoral ministers in the Catholic Church who bring the Eucharist, prayer, and compassionate presence to the sick, elderly, and homebound who cannot attend Mass. These ministers serve in private residences and West Suburban Nursing Home (at 10 a.m. on Sundays), extending the Church’s compassionate and healing presence to those in vulnerable times of their lives. The ministry requires qualities such as compassion, empathy, a non-judgmental attitude, confidentiality, prayerfulness, and a commitment to continuous formation.
