Our St. Isidore Pads Ministry
DuPage Pads’ mission is to end homelessness in DuPage county. Its programs feed and shelter individuals and families, and connect them to case management and other services that can address the underlying causes of their homelessness. DuPage Pads houses approximately 300 residents at their Interim Housing Center (IHC) in Downers Grove.
The St. Isidore Pads Ministry supports this mission through ongoing collection of personal items and toiletries, plus seasonal drives for clothing, snack foods and beverages for Pads’ Resource Room at the IHC where residents can select needed essentials. Once per month St. Isidore volunteers lovingly provide a hot, home-cooked dinner for the residents. Volunteers are needed to plan, prep, cook, and serve this dinner at the IHC.
Commitment: Members can volunteer as their time permits, either weekly at the IHC Resource Room in Downers Grove, by helping one hour a week with Factor meal distribution at Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn, or by joining our meal prep team the third Thursday of the month at the IHC in Downers Grove.
