Dear Parents and Guardians,
Yesterday we celebrated our grandparents and grandfriends. It is this extraordinary group of people who laid the foundation of faith for you and your family. Their stories, their examples, their hard work, their moral values, and their beliefs have molded you and your children into who you are today. St. Isidore Parish and School is proud to partner with you and your families on this profound journey. Together, with parents and grandparents, we help our students find God’s truth, beauty, and goodness in all we are, all we see, and all we do. This is our mission.
Ghost and Goblin season is here! Join us Saturday for a Spooktacular Trunk or Treat event! The festivities will be held from 10am-12noon in the north parking lot (3on3 lot). Come and enjoy some games, treats, and activities as a school community! All are welcome!
Our classrooms will celebrate Halloween on Halloween day. Students in PS-4th grade may wear their Halloween costumes to school. Students in grades 5-8 will change at lunch time. Our costume parade will begin at 1pm. All families are invited to line the parade route to watch us parade around campus; however, once students enter the school, only designated room parents will be able to enter with them. Should we experience bad weather, the costume parade will be in the gym. Classroom parties begin after the parade.
Parent Teacher Conferences- This year, conference sign up is on our new student information system, FACTS. Behind the scenes, creating the conferences is done a bit differently using FACTS than through our former system (School Speak). In the past, the school office has generated and controlled the entire conference schedule. Moving forward on FACTS, each teacher generates their own conference sign ups based on the school’s schedule. Please note the office does not have any access to the teacher conference schedules. Should you have questions regarding conference sign ups, you will need to contact the teacher directly. Since this is our first time using FACTS, we ask for your continued patience as we work through this. The teachers spent this week generating their conference schedules, and all conference schedules should now be live and ready for sign-ups. If your child is in 5th-8th grade, we are asking you to first schedule an appointment with your child’s homeroom teacher; however, you can also schedule a conference with any additional subject matter teachers as necessary. Specials teachers will not be conferencing. If you would like to meet with one of our specials teachers (music, art, PE, library, technology) you should reach out individually to that teacher to schedule a conference on an alternate date.
Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, November 16th and Friday, November 17th. Students have a half day of school on Thursday 11/16 and will be dismissed at 11am. Conferences on Thursday are from 1pm-9pm, with a dinner break for the teachers from 5:30pm-6:15pm. Conferences on Friday are from 9am-2pm, with a lunch break for the teachers from 11:30am-12:15pm. There is no school on Friday 11/17, followed by Thanksgiving break from 11/20-11/24. We will return to school to celebrate Advent and the coming of baby Jesus on Monday, 11/27.
Football Mania- We have two $25 winners this week! Congratulations to the Biernat family and Alycia Alongi.
Primary Drop-Off/Pick-Up- Please follow our school protocols regarding drop off and pick up. Parents should follow the car line with their child exiting/entering on the passenger side of the vehicle. We discourage parking and walking your child across the parking lot due to safety reasons.
Picture Retakes- If your child was not here for fall pictures, or if you are having your child retake his/her photo, please plan for them to dress photo appropriately on Monday, October 23rd for picture retakes. Students taking/retaking a photo do not have to wear their school uniform to school on Monday, rather a school appropriate outfit for pictures.
FFF/Spirit Wear Day- Tomorrow is our first FFF/Spirit Wear day for the year! If your child did not order lunch from our FFF order, please send your child with a school appropriate lunch from home.
November Hot Lunch/FFF Orders are due by the end of day Monday, 10/23. FFF for November is Taco Bell. All orders must submitted and paid for through FACTS. No late orders can be accepted.
Institute Day- There is no school on Friday 10/27 for a faculty institute day. The teachers will be using this day to meet in data teams, as well as final training on report cards using FACTS. Fingers crossed on that one!
Hope to see you on Saturday!
